Message from Hamburg, September 11, 2001

Hamburg

Although I am ready to return to the USA, the news from the TV was devastating.  All airports in the USA are closed down, My flight, Hamburg, Helsinki, NYC, DC, is cancelled.

Grief seized me as I realized this must be the way people in other countries feel when we send bombs and destroy their countries.  Despair, desolation, and burning anger..

St. Francis, as always, comes to mind: Written sometime in 1200 A.D.,

Shekina, Shekina
Let me be an instrument
For Peace on this planet
And harmony in our souls

Where there is hostility
I must find forgiveness
Where there is hatred
I must find love

And from my own ELEMENTS

Oh light
Oh light
Oh shining light
How tiny is your glimmer

Oh light
Oh light
Oh shining light
How little do we need

Oh light
Oh light
Oh shining light
Send your magic glimmer
To me

Safe in Hamburg, I spend all day listening  to sacred music, Hildegard, Gregorian chant, Indian, Tibetan. This sacred music, I have found, helps to heal the soul.

A warm thank you to the staff of Finnair and American Airlines for keeping us informed, to return us safely to our homes.
