DEATH AND DYING

You willl believe, after Diane was dismissed from hospital, sent home without further medication, hardly able to walk , fever 106, sent back to hospice, nurse told me it will be over in two days.

The two days are over, she was sent home.

Upon arriving at home, she immediately summoned Rabbi David (my spiritual advisor for some 40 years), to bring his guitar and me to visit her at 5:45 PM, Wednesday, August 21, 2002, to her home in Washington, D.C.

We came in expecting a sad moment of struggling with death at her bedside.

It was 1 1/2 hours. together singing, dancing in the bed with Diane, out of bed with Donna dancing, singing David at the guitar, more and more ecstacy

Trudy bursts out in poetry
Donna, more poetry
David never leaves the guitar
praise to the Lord,
unseen, but heard
Everywhere

By the road side
In the birds that warble
In dance and song
In bed
Out of bed
all over the universe.

Is this a death call?
Is this a wake up call?

We all engage in the
Endless cycle of
Birth, rebirth, death

In this World?
In that World?
Where, of Where
Are you, my Lord?
