To have the inheritance
Chosen People
Wow what a story
of Devious Women
starting with Sarah

Bible starts with intrigues
Concerning inherintance
Continues all through
History of the Chosen People

And so God promises
Ishmail descendents
Will also become a
Great Nation
Arabs settled as nomads
Ages ago, living in Palestine
Now called Israel

The rest of the Bible
Tells Exodus from Egypt
until time of Moses death
And the entrance into Canaan
Now called Israel

And in the new Millenium, 2000
The same violence and enemity
Is played out with modern weapons
With a Defence Industry supplied
By the United States of America
Great Land of Liberty
Now riding into a Police State

Under the leadership of
George Bush, President
And support of the powerful
Jewish Lobby protecting
Its ancient Tribe of Judea
In the ancient land of Canaan
Once called Palestine
Now called Israel

For years many of us
Are fighting for Human Rights
For Palestians in Occupied Israel

We lose daily as the Hitler Sharon
A former Terrorist Warrior
In the days of the British Mandate
Is now Bulldozer Sharon
In Occupied Palestian

He felt all will be well if
His former Warrior Arafat
Were dead
In his isolated palace
Very ill, no medical help
Sent to France
And soon died
Mystery of cause hushed

Arafat is now dead
He is dead, mysteriously
Unsatisfied Bulldozer Sharon
Wants to get every Terrorist
Dead or Alive to make Israel
Safe for the Settlers
And every village destroyed
To make Israel even safer

For even more safety
Miles of ugly concrete walls
Close in enclaves of Arab land

Farms are destroyed
Schools are difficult to get in
Christian Churches
Walled in Bethlehem
Home of Christian Arabs

Where does it ever end?
All over groups plead for
Human Rights for Palestinians
Martyrs give their lives
For Freedom for others
Meanwhile killing Israelis

Hatred revenge on both sides
Ancient cries for murder
Are still the Karma
of ancient Canaan
Now called Israel

With occupied Palestine
Now called Two-Nations
I must leave all this sadness
And futility of others to
Break up this family violence

St Francis prayed during Crusades
Grant me Serenity to accept
What I cannot change
Grant me courage to make a change
And Wisdom to know the difference

During the New Year
I will support and inaugurate
Inter-Faith Worship Services

And keep lighting candle in Prayer
For All people who help light up
Dark corners of the world
As Eleanor Roosevelt wanted

My first prayers are for Concerts for Peace
Israeli-Arab musicians and dancers
Who can co-exist performing together
In Israel and all over the world
To spread their message

A second prayer for peacemakers
Still struggling in dark corners
In the darkness of the present Israel
In War Zones in Asia and the Mid-East

Let us be joyful, as St. Francis wished
There are still the birds flowers and bees
Become an individual steward of our planet
Obey the Ten Commandments
Respect all Children of Abraham
All traditional faiths of ancient
Bible days in other parts of world

St Francis asks that we become
Instruments for Peace on Earth
and Harmony in our soul
