OCTOBER 2006

Cracks, Cracks, Cracks
Interfaith Vibes Peak Through

JULY highlighted
Going on 88
Getting ready for big Adventure
Need for Solitude,
Alone but not lonely

Many projects started
After Malcolms death
Some 20 years ago
Seem to have ripened

Annual Prayer Vigil on the Mall
Very diverse and awesome
Buddhists, drummers,
Native American Indians
St. Francis Prayer as always
But only one Christian
Sad although invited
Children of Abraham
Other than Muslim Sufis
Not in attendance

Annointed as an Elder
in the Native American Tribe
With Elders still alive
Asked to lead in dancing and Chanting
Rabbi David and Pastor Goldstein
Blew the shofar to welcome the sun rising
Profound and moving experience
This year performed St. Francis Prayer
with a Gospel Singer who also played flute
Beautiful combination audience very moved

Late September graduation
For grandson from St. Johns Sante Fe,
and Megan from St. Johns later
Adam arranged for local hostel for PM
In Santa Fe lunch with parents of friend
And worship at New Life, Evangelica Church
Very moving, warm, hospitable, Hispanics

At National Cathedral, DC, Interfaith Worship
Co-mingling holidays: Yom Kippor, Ramadan
St. Francis prayers for animals, drumming
Native American flute, Gospel singing
In beautiful surroundings all were welcome
I was so proud to be part of the Creators dream
Adams ancestors could worship together
In peace and harmony, instruments of the
Ultimate Good, called all different names

Week honoring Pauline Oliveros and Ione
In Mexico young students eagerly
Swarmed around Pauline and Ione
As Pauline performed on the accordian
And Ione dreamed sweet dreams
With her beautiful smile
All of us swooned in rapture
Plato's vision of the Good and Beautiful

With all these cracks appearing in
Traditional warmonging among dieties
October opened on October lst,
Kol Nidre evening followed by services
Wooton High School, fully booked

David reminded us of our Covenant
To keep the Ten Commandments and
leave in peace with our neighbors
State of Israel is chastised with blood
Our Torah says murder of citizens
Causes blood to remain on the land

Present murder of previous citizens on land
Ancestors of Ishmael, first born of Abraham
In Bible language, sinful and Chosen People
May not inhabit Canaan and Moses in poetry
Repeats the message that Canaan may not be
occupied if the Covenant is not kept

During services we read again about Ishmael
His mother Hager will also be a great nation
Jonah and his mission to Ninevah is also told
God of the Ultimate Good is merciful
The King of Ninevah orders all to repent
Even the cattle who live on the land
And Jonah? He feels they should not be forgiven
They are not part of the Chosen People
But there is only one God of Goodness and
His name is Adonai, Jonah does not know.

The whole month of October seemed
Continuation of Yom Kippor, Ramadan
and St.Francis Prayers for animals.

In the month of celebration, inter-faith
