Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering is the oldest and largest faculty at Jordan University of Science and Technology. With 162 faculty members, 67 supporting staff and 61 research and teaching labs, the Faculty thrives to qualify competent engineers for the local, regional and international job markets. The Faculty has recently put together its strategic plan for the next five years which aims at guaranteeing quality assurance of its programs and to continue its excellence and leadership for future sustainable developments. Moreover, the Faculty maintains a very good reputation in international journals and conference publications.

The Jordan University of Science and Technology was established on 1 September 1986. Although its campus outside Irbid was originally intended to be the new, future campus of Yarmouk University, five faculties (the engineering and medical faculties) were instead detached from Yarmouk University and moved to the new campus, where they would become the first faculties of Jordan University of Science and Technology. The JUST campus is located approximately 20 km east of Irbid in northern Jordan and covers an area of approximately 11 km². In addition to academic buildings and the JUST Library, the campus includes athletic facilities including a 7000-seat soccer stadium.

The university contains two main campuses, known as: the Medicine Faculties Building and the Engineering Faculties Building. There are two libraries: one in the Engineering Faculties Building and the other is in the Medicine Faculties Building. Every department has a computer lab for the students to use. There are also two open labs one in each campus. Moreover, six additional labs are available for the graduate, undergraduate computer science students and students who are taking computer science courses at the PH building located at the Medicine Faculties Building. The campus is covered by a wireless internet connection in order to provide the students, faculty members and researcher with the richness of the internet and to help make the largest source of information in this world accessible anytime and anywhere at the university campus.
