January 30. Art and Resistance in Palestine

Palestine's West Bank and Gaza.
Benefit for "Made in Palestine"
Exhibit of 23 Palestinian artists
coming to NYC this spring
ABC No Rio
156 Rivington St, NYC

Susan Greene and Sarah Kerschnar presented slides, v ideo, and layered stories, reflections and analysis of the trauma, resilience and resistance to the occupation in Palestine

Two murals: One in Rafah in remembrance of Rachel Corrie, a young American who was run over by an Israeli driven, American made bulldozer while trying to protect a Palestinian home from being demolished; and a 2 year mural project on the Apartheid/ Occupation Wall that surrounds the Aamer family on 4 sides in the West Bank town of Mas'ha were shown. These exhibits are worth thousands of words to describe what is happening in occupied Palestine.

As in all times of great conflict and changing sysems, the artists and film makers lead the struggle for justice in such times of crisis and violence.

The Indigo Evolution
James Twyman
Jan 27 - 29

400 theatres and churches around the world will host screenings of the new documentary "The Indigo Evolution'"

I met James Twyman some 15 years ago, when he held conferences with Greg Braden, well known for his tours to Tibet.

James Twyman has composed music to St. Francis Prayer, and held prayer sessions in Iraq, Jerusalem, and many other places.

This film won a boost from the NY Times, and after so many years of obscurity, he is now being recognized as a world peace maker, with others in the arts, videos, and films.

Jan. 21 - Potters House
Church of our Savior
1658 Columbia Rd
Washington, DC

The Potters House was established by the Church of our Savior, a new Church started about twenty years ago.

It already has purchased land for its Residential Retreat Home, as well as a coffee shop for discussions on current
issues. Its members participate actively for human rights, better housing for lower income families, and all issues that effect people.

This meeting will bring speakers to discuss current issues in the Mid-East and violence in the world.

CLUB DOME - Art and Technology
Children's Museum of Science & Technology

250 Jordan Road, Troy, N.Y.
Rennsselaer Technology Park
Jan 20 - 8 PM

Pauline Oliveros and Diana Slattery

DomeWorks and the Children's Museum of Science and Technology have partnered to bring Club Dome, a series of experimental immersive visual and sound art works to the Museum's Planetarium, the first programming of this sort to be presented in the Capital region. The intimacy of the Planetarium dome invites the Club Dome experience from either chairs or on cushions, fully reclined under the dome. Special blankies and personal pillows allowed.

Art in the Planetarium

The current trend of digitally refitting planetarium domes world-wide to fulldome, single channel projection systems has opened a new world of possibilities for educational and artistic programming, dramatically lowering the cost both of production and delivery.

DomeWorks is an arts collaborative based in the Capital region creating works for domed spaces and the hardware and software tools and equipment for future technological and aesthetic experimentation in wraparound realities. DomeWorks is a living laboratory for such experimentation in extended perception of sound and sight, exploring the borders of audibility and visibility through spatialization of sound, and through imaging that reaches beyond the borders of peripheral vision.
